University of Manitoba - Urology - Winnipeg
The Urology Residency program at the University of Manitoba has been training leaders in urologic surgery for over 40 years! Our program is an accredited, five-year program, that strives to train and develop competent and compassionate Urologists. Our trainees dedicate themselves to the high standards of urological practice and contribute to the provision of patient-centered care. Our program carefully fuses a robust surgical volume, advanced didactic teaching schedule and unparalleled collegiality resulting in a well-balanced post-graduate training experience. The program is based out of the Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Hospital and St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We primarily serve the City of Winnipeg, but also provide services to the Provinces of Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario and Nunavut resulting in a catchment population of over 1.5 million people.
The program offers a wide range of adult and pediatric urological services, including urological oncology, endourology, infertility, andrology, reconstructive urology, voiding dysfunction, transplant urology and general urology. Staff are trained in open, laparascopic and microscopic surgery. The pediatric urologists provide tertiary care in virtually all aspects of pediatric urology. Residents gain a broad exposure to all sub-specialties in urology.
With commitment and dedication from all staff, we focus on the well-being and career development of our trainees.
